Wenn am Donnerstag, 13.03.2025, um 11 Uhr Sirenen und Handys ertönen, Warn-Apps Alarm schlagen, ist das kein Grund zur Sorge – denn Deutschland übt am bundesweiten Warntag wieder für den Ernstfall.
Auch das Land Nordrhein-Westfalen macht erneut mit. Um 11 Uhr wird das Bundesamt für Bevölkerungsschutz und Katastrophenhilfe (BBK) die Probewarnung unter anderem über Warn-Apps, den Mobilfunkdienst Cell Broadcast und Stadtinformationstafeln auslösen. Auch Radio- und Fernsehsender verbreiten die Probewarnung an diesem Tag.
Die teilnehmenden Kreise, kreisfreien Städte und Gemeinden lösen gleichzeitig ihre Warnmittel aus. Sirenen können ertönen, Lautsprecherfahrzeuge verbreiten die Warnung, im Internet und über Soziale Medien wird gewarnt.
Der bundesweite Warntag soll die Menschen in Deutschland für das Thema Warnung sensibilisieren, die Technik und das Zusammenspiel der verschiedenen Warnmittel überprüfen. So sollen mögliche Schwachstellen erkannt werden. Ziel ist außerdem, dass die Warnung möglichst viele Menschen erreicht – egal auf welchem Weg. Deshalb setzen Bund, Länder und Kommunen auf einen breiten Warnmittelmix.
